Grief and Beyond
One of the most painful experiences in my life and, I am sure in everyone’s, is the passing of a loved one. They say that there are 5 stages to grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.
What I didn’t understand was acceptance, because we always remember, we always miss that person. So, what is acceptance? In my life, the way I learnt acceptance, is that I know that the ‘person’ is not gone. The reason I know is because I have done countless readings for people who wanted to reach their departed loved ones. I have been able to help them in some way. It feels like the soul is right with me, and I get images in my mind. First to confirm that it is the right soul the person is asking for, as many souls come through if they also want to connect. It's easier if I see something the soul used to wear or use as a human being.
So that’s the way I know that our bodies are our vessels, but our soul lives on for eternity. That is how I see acceptance. It is still extremely painful, and hard to accept because even though it's part of our human experience, we are not used to it as souls. If you can imagine that you came into this human existence because your soul chose to, then you will realize that as souls, being immortal, we don’t understand death. Many of us think we are just humans, but we are souls living as humans.
The best way – in my opinion – is to feel every emotion, however if you get too depressed, please seek medical assistance. A gifted psychic can help you by getting closure, to a certain extent. We can answer any questions that you might want to ask your loved one. These types of sessions are hard on the psychic, because it takes energy, but I always found it wonderful to help the person find some sense of joy, and/or closure.
The soul stays with you for as long as you need them, and at any time you can ask for them to be near you. Just ask. You will see that they will show you signs that only you and they know about, and when you feel or see the signs, know they are near you. They want you to know that they are not lost, or gone forever, and they want you to know that they are okay, and that you are as well. I have had many signs from loved ones, some come to me in dreams, others in the waking world.
I will share with you one such experience. A few days after my grandfather died, my father changed the batteries for a clock that hung on the wall for my grandmother. However, it still did not work. One of my favorite songs when I was young was “My Grandfather’s Clock”. In the song the words “and it stopped dead, never to go again when the old man died”. I got up on a chair, wanting to try and fix it. All I did was touch it, and it started ticking. From that moment on, I knew that his soul lives on, and I smiled and said, “love you, see you when it's my time to go”.
Human life should be experienced. Experience the ups and downs. Know that your loved ones who have passed will meet you when you pass.
In the meantime, live life like it was your last day. Smile at anything that brings you joy. Enjoy your human experience, but also help the planet that makes it possible.
Love to you all.
