The Osho Zen Tarot gets its name from the mystic and spiritual leader who inspired its creation.
Formerly known as Acharya or Bhagwan Sri Rajneesh, Osho had plans and ideas for creating his own deck of Tarot but died before he could realize them. The Osho Zen Tarot deck was created by his faithful disciples.
Osho tarot cards are not the traditional Tarot deck, most commonly used to predict the future. Osho Zen cards focus on what’s happening here and now.
The basic principle of the Osho tarot is the wisdom of Zen philosophy, according to which everything that happens to us is a direct reflection of our thoughts and feelings, even if we can’t describe what we feel or trace the course of our thoughts.
The Osho tarot deck allows you to look deep into any situation, identify its cause and effect, see the emotions involved, and understand what it means for you.
The Osho Zen Tarot deck consists of Major and Minor Arcana. Traditional tarot has 22 cards in the Major Arcana and Osho Zen adds one more: the card of the Master. The Minor Arcana has 56 cards divided into four suits: Rainbow, Fire, Clouds, and Water. Every card in the Osho deck has its own name, a unique meaning, and an association with one of Osho’s teachings.
