It’s a truth universally acknowledged in the clairvoyant “business” that a person in need of a window on their future, will most likely contact a clairvoyant at some point and this is how the dialogue might go.
CLIENT: Can you tell me when I’m going to get married?
CLAIRVOYANT: I’m so sorry, I’m a clairvoyant, not a fortune teller.
CLIENT: What’s the difference?
CLAIRVOYANT: Well, I bring messages from spirit; I don’t have a crystal ball, nor do I use cards. Although I know a clairvoyant who does!
CLIENT: Oh! I’m still unsure.
CLAIRVOYANT: It’s probably best to seek out a tarot card reader, or someone who uses runes or other forms of scrying.
CLIENT: I still don’t know why you can’t tell me when I’m getting married though.......
As a clairvoyant for Zodiac Psychics, I can’t emphasise it enough on my profile that I am not a fortune teller. I know it is confusing to some people, but this article may go in some way to explain what questions they should ask from whom they’re having a reading. Of course, I also can’t expect them to know everything about our trade, so I’m going to lay it out for those who are unfamiliar with the terms and educate clients so hopefully they extensively understand each expertise of the different advisors here on Zodiac Psychics.
The word clairvoyant literally means clear sight. People who are clairvoyants can often see things from the spirit world that others can’t. They often see things through their “third eye” and are able to raise their vibration to meet that of the spirit world. They will be (hopefully) able to tune into a deceased relative, friend or even a spirit guide and bring you messages from the “other side”. Those messages, from my experience form a silent dictation from the spirit world into the brain. It’s the clairvoyant’s job to pass on that message, not to decipher it too much, but to pass it on as best they can.
Fortune Teller
A fortune teller uses the arts of predicting future events in a person’s life. This can be done in a variety of ways by reading tarot cards, runes, reading the palms of the hands, and using many other methods. Some fortune tellers just read the meanings of the cards or lines on the hands, and others are psychic enough to get messages from spirit.
Astrologer
An astrologer is a person versed in the science and art of Astrology having set up a birth chart from the birth data given and read the celestial position of the stars for that moment in time and give insight into a person’s. character and to plot future events. It is not, in my eyes, a fortune telling tool. Unfortunately due to time restraints, it is simply not possible to set up a birth chart during short sessions with customer. However, I find it useful just to know a sun sign for the few minutes I have to look at a relationship. Astrology is also used to gauge the compatibility between two people. It by no means tells the whole story, but just shines a spotlight on various matters. I find it useful to know a date of birth because it allows me a focal point in which to tune into that relationship.
Medium
A medium is a person who acts as the go-between between the spirit world and the earth world. They are literally the channel by which messages are passed through and are able to raise their vibration to meet that of the spirit world.
Psychic
A psychic is a person who has extra sensory perception and can feel and hear things that others may not be able to access. They can often see things that others cannot. Often they are mediums and clairvoyants as well.
Clairaudient
A person with the ability to hear messages from the spirit world (in my case rather like someone dictating a letter!) and then they pass on whatever they hear.
Clairsentient
A person who can pick up psychic information through feeling it.
Psychometrist
A person who can touch an object belonging to somebody else and get a reading from it of a psychic nature.
I have given above the most general types of readers you may come across. A tarot reader may be psychic, or they may be just reading information from the cards. A clairvoyant is usually a medium, like myself, who is psychic and sometimes clairaudient.
I am also an astrologer, but on this site I simply don’t have the time to set up a full birth chart and delineate it.
Clairvoyants receive their knowledge through their psychic centres called chakras through which energy flows.
We have seven main chakras and I have listed below exactly what they are and what they do. This will help you understand the chakras used by a tarot reader and a clairvoyant.
Root Chakra
The root chakra represents our link to the earth and feelings of being grounded. It is located at the base of the spine. It is our link to the material world.
Sacral Chakra
The sacral chakra is linked to sex and pleasure and is located in the lower abdomen area.
Solar Plexus Chakra
The solar plexus chakra is where we get our “gut” feeling about something. It rules instinct and our ability to control our own lives.
Heart Chakra
The heart chakra is located in the centre of the chest, just above the heart. This is where we feel love.
Throat Chakra
The throat chakra is located in the throat and rules communication. Those clairvoyants who go into trance and channel voices from spirit are using this chakra (among others) to communicate.
Third eye Chakra
The third eye chakra is where the clairvoyant sees visions, receives intuitive feelings and imagination.
Crown Chakra
The crown chakra is at the top of the head where the clairvoyant truly connects to spirit.
With this knowledge in mind you will find that those readers who use tarot cards and who possess some form of extra ability are using their solar plexus chakra. If they are truly connecting to spirit they will be using their third eye and crown chakras, and will not necessarily need cards to focus upon.
